Some, what's recently gripped me if I'm honest is Josh Tatter's stories, which have Roman fantasy, along with AJ Stevens' epic fantasy story.

As to audiobooks' I think it is the Saga of the Jewels I've listened to, for podcasts not listened to much stuff right now.

What we need is a small indie fantasy podcasts that highlights and pushes forward we Substack fantasy-writers I think, this would help us get more popular.

Excellent essay by the way.

It's so nice to find a new author that has talent, isn't it?

Loved your posts. I find them informative, fun and very inspiring.

I got into Sarah J Maas a few years ago, and I still like the throne of glass series the best. You should try it! I shall devour the article.

I read somewhere that k-lytics suggest that the most popular Spec Fic on Amazon this year is dark fantasy. Any thoughts on this?

Keep up the great work. πŸ€—

Thank you for your recommendation.

From a writer's perspective, I think dark fantasy holds a lot of potential for plots. Secrets and power are always great story-movers, and you can do so much with them! However, I think dark fantasy's popularity will find a challenger in cozy fantasy in the coming months. Genre and sub-genre popularity swings back and forth like a pendulum, and can be very influenced by real life. It will be interesting to see where fantasy and spec fic end up in the next 6 months.
