When I was little, my favorite place was the library.
Okay, truth be told, it still is, but what I get out now is more mature. Anyway, while I was in the library last week, I got to thinking about the stories I read in my childhood that stayed with me.
What fables still resonated with me as an adult?
Easily, Robin Hood. As well as Aladdin and the Forty Thieves.
In fact, I still have my copies of those books!
What stories/myths/fables/legends did you hear as a child that still resonate with you today?
Libraries & Bookstores - the most sacred of spaces! 📖
I could never understand people who felt that the library was an errand. To me, it was a destination. Mother subscribed me to "Children's Classics" so I had Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, 40,000 Leagues, Little House series. So for me the library was all about Andre Norton, fantasy, certain non-fiction books on historical dress, and books not written "for children"
