There's a heart-wrenching twist at the end of Tigana that still guts me, 25 years after first reading it. But otherwise, I am not usually caught off guard by plot twists, at least not memorably. I can't think of the last time it happened. Maybe I just have a really high threshold for what constitutes a plot twist, versus just the usual turns a plot is supposed to be taking?
