So much to choose from. But I prefer learning from older writers than trying to decipher new ones.

I'm too busy read fantasy and SciFi novels to read fanfic. Plus I don't watch a lot of TV.

I don't watch t.v either. In fact, my television hasn't been turned on since last Christmas!

I don’t read any fanfic but that’s primarily because I’ve got so many non-fanfic books to read. But honestly, I’ve never read any fanfic so maybe I’m missing out? πŸ§πŸ§™β€β™‚οΈπŸ§šβ€β™€οΈπŸ§Œ

There is some terrific fanfic out there. I just finished reading one that focuses on what happened after the hobbits returned to the Shire. It was true to canon, extremely well-written and SO engaging!

If you're of a mind to see what's out there, Archive of Our Own (also known as A03) is the best site.

Absolutely! I my TBR pile were a tower, Rapunzel could let down her hair and not have to worry about anyone stepping on it!

I feel like fanfic about the same as I do about indy fic, tbh -- there's lots of good work out there, but I'm not willing to slog through the not-so-good to find it. I appreciate the enthusiasm writers put into their fan works, though, and for those who want to some day sell their work, it's as good a way as any to practice their craft.
