Magic in high fantasy is often powerful, ancient, and tied to the fate of the world. Characters may wield incredible abilities like summoning storms, casting fireballs, or healing.
In Urban Fantasy, magic exists alongside modern technology and urban environments. Abilities might include spellcasting, shape-shifting, or psychic powers.
Each subgenre within fantasy brings its own magical abilities, of course, and there are dozens of subgenres now, with more being introduced every week.
If you could have one magical ability borrowed from a fantasy character, which would it be? Tell us your plans!
One magical ability? That's a tough one. My choice leans on the 'superhero' genre but I would pick 'superspeed'. Second choice? teleport.
I always wanted psionic powers like the Deryni -- telepathy, mainly, but some telekinesis and healing thrown in there.
