I read Jo Waltonβs Tooth and Claw without knowing anything about the genre. I was about 1/3 of the way through before I was like: wait a minute!! This is Jane Austin but dragons!!!!! So much fun. I should read more in the genre. C. L. Polkβs books were super fun too. Thanks for the recs!!! π

I've read about half of the ones you've mentioned, but the most important one is Swordspoint (and the associated Riverside novels). Great summary of the subgenre, thank you!
