I wanted to step away from our usual programming for a minute and share a couple of things with you. First off, to our newest Enchanted Life readers…welcome! I’m so glad you’re here! I love having this small but mighty community where we can all hang out and talk about fantasy books, movies, games, and such. No matter what kind of crap the world throws at us, it’s nice to know we can always find people here who understand us—even a little.

If you want to catch up with fantasy books, then perhaps start with the older ones you've not read and work forward time wise.
Tolkien is a great read, and reference point, but lots of others must have also shaped your path.
My start stories ones were - Enid Blyton, Fairy Tales, CS Lewis.
I had the LP record of the film Peter Pan. I knew the words/story by heart.
Other things that inspired my love of of fantasy:
Disney - Pete's Dragon, Bednobs and Broomsticks, Blackbeards Ghost...,
Cartoons - Flintstones,
Kids TV - Mr Ben,
TV Series - Bewitched.
Films - The Phantom Tollbooth, The Gnomemobile.
