My Fantasy Fiction Project: Anthem's Ember
Iām one of those people who cannot read just one book at a time. (I currently have four that Iām reading right now) Iām also one of those writers who cannot have just one project either.
My fantasy project has the scope of an epic fantasy, and I see it as the first in a series of five. My world of Uclandia comprises four provinces with a city at the hub of them all. The first tale is set in the city - the seat of the Emperor, and each story after that will be set in one of the provinces. Each of the provinces is different in terrain, some of the plants that grow in one province will not grow in another, and they all have different ecologies, economies, and so on. So their roles in the Uclandian Empire vary widely. Thereās plenty of room for stories in Uclandia. Hence my vision of a series of at least five!
The first one is tentatively called "Anthem's Ember". My goal is to have an entire 1st draft of the manuscript ready to submit by January 31st, 2024.Ā
Hereās a short blurb for it;
In a realm where shadows of tyranny loom large, Anthem, a quiet young woman with a hidden magic, and Raven, framed for a crime she didn't commit, find their destinies intertwined. As the Emperorās power-hungry mistress, Azura Voss, weaves a web of deception to control the empire, a rebellion stirs in the heart of injustice. Anthem's fire-based magic awakens an ancient artifact, the Flamestone, and with it, the long-lost dragons. Together, Anthem and Raven lead a daring rebellion, unraveling conspiracies, confronting their pasts, and revealing a legacy hidden for centuries. With the return of dragons, secrets, and prophecies, their struggle becomes the realm's last hope. 'Anthem's Ember' is an epic tale of magic, redemption, and the power of the unexpected in the fight for justice.
In the coming days, Iāll share with you details about the city at the hub of Uclandia, who Anthem is, and why sheās so important. Iāll also share with you a peek of the Flamestone and let you in on the secret of why the dragons left Uclandia.
If elemental magic, dragons, secrets & subterfuge, and rebellions are your thing, you might enjoy Anthemās Ember.
