“True bravery is not the absence of fear, but the courage to act despite it, often for the sake of those we hold dear.”
The most classic example of bravery any Tolkien fan will consider first is the bravery Samwise Gamgee demonstrates over and over again as he accompanies Frodo on his journey to destroy The One Ring. But our beloved fantasy fiction is ripe with other examples of bravery!
Tell us about a character (of any written work, film, or graphic novel, even!) that stands out in your mind for being especially brave in the face of danger.
Or, if you’d like, tell us about a time you felt compelled to act bravely because of your loyalty to someone. What happened?
You, Carolyn.
You are brave.
I bet Samwise didn’t think he was either.
You give me reason to believe that I can cope with similar circumstances in my future.
